The Bedtime Tag

So recently I was nominated to do The Bedtime Tag by the lovely Amelia over at Mum’s Beauty Cave. You can find her bedtime tag here so go and check it out!

As a university student, my days are fairly hectic and I look forward to sleeping every minute of the day until it finally gets to bedtime.

1.       Describe your usual bedtime routine.

About an hour before I plan to go to sleep, I will take off any makeup I have on (provided I didn’t take it off when I got in) and begin with my skincare routine, which I will be writing a blog post for very soon. I will then brush my teeth and grab a glass of water to take to bed with me. Once in my bedroom, I will tidy anything that needs to be done that will not take a lot of time. Afterwards, I proceed to get into bed and I will either read a little bit of a book or quickly check my social medias.

2.      What are your favorite pajamas?

I hate feeling like I am trapped in clothing when I sleep so just any shorts and a t-shirt is my go-to. I have quite a thick duvet so I don’t really need thick, fluffy pajamas.

3.      What is your current bedtime reading?

As mentioned in my last post, I am currently focusing on my transition to minimalism so I am reading The Book of Hygge to give me inspiration into a simple way of living. If I am not reading that, then there is a small selection of books I like to delve into and read, one being my favorite book which is The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Here are the books I like to reach for:

4.      What would I find on your bedside table?

Currently on my bedside table is a picture frame of my best friend and I. We hardly get to see each other so it’s a nice little reminder of the privilege I have of knowing him and having such a close connection. Then I have a book I like to read before bed, an alarm clock, some lip balm, some Lush spot treatment, lavender spray, hand cream and also a Simple eye roll-on.

5.      What scent makes you sleepy?

Most definitely lavender (hence the lavender spray) but also hot chocolate. I think my mind has associated it with a bedtime “wind-down” drink so it makes me sleepy.

6.      What is your usual bedtime and wake-up time?

I try to be in bed and asleep by 10/10:30pm, then be awake and ready by 8/9am. I am really trying my best to get a proper routine but with unpredictable weekly schedules due to uni, I am struggling!

7.      What are your top three bedtime products?

I am presuming this means products you use before you sleep, so I’ll have to say the Clinique ‘All About Eyes Rich’ eye cream, a nourishing lip balm like Carmex or Lush Lip Service, and also water. Not sure if that counts but oh well! (And a hairband – I always sleep with my hair lightly tied back)

8.      What is your most common sleeping position?

On my side, no preference. Never on my back, though.

9.      Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?

Water. All day, every day.

10.  What is your worst bedtime habit?

Checking my phone and then getting distracted for hours. I am losing out on sleep and it also wakes me up more than anything rather than making me sleepy.

So there is my bedtime tag! I tag:

-         Thank the person who nominated you, and link back to their blog.
-         Display the bedtime badge, which can be seen at the top of this post.
-         Answer the ten questions above.
-         Nominate other bloggers to take part.
